Double Hanger Bars Spread Out And Cool Down Hot Cloths

Saddle Brook, NJ: The Wax Caddie for organizing flatwork ironer maintenance products from laundry product supplier Tingue, Brown & Co., Saddle Brook, NJ, features a double hanger bar design that provides a safe place where hot wax cloths may be cooled after ironer cleaning. Hanging the hot cloths over the bar rather than leaving them heaped on the floor, in a corner or in a bin extends the useful service life of the wax cloths by approximately 33%, according to Niamat Kalra, vice president of Mayflower Textiles, Baltimore, Md.. Mr. Kalra credits the Wax Caddie with substantial cost savings on wax cloths after using it for more than three years of continuous service in waxing the company's five flatwork ironers four times/day. "The wax cloths are too hot to handle when they come out of the ironer but we never had a better solution than just laying them on the floor or putting them in a cart," says Kalra. "With the Wax Caddie, we can spread them out neatly away from our people and they don't wear as quickly. Now our cloths last about three months instead of two."

The Wax Caddie is a novel concept that corrals wax cloths, wax, sealers, guide tapes, cleaners, tools and other flatwork ironer cleaning and maintenance items in a single, rolling utility cart. "We put all our items on it and with the rollers, we can move it to whichever ironer is being worked on," adds Kalra. "It's very useful."
